Light Commercial Troubleshooting and Product Review 9/30/21

This course is designed to provide comprehensive coverage of the Precedent and Voyager rooftops.  Upon course, completion students will have been exposed to the mechanical, electrical, and control systems of these units and will have become knowledgeable in the start-up and troubleshooting requirements of these products.  Technical manuals will be provided.
Course Objectives: Understand the refrigeration cycle; Employ proper mechanical cooling and heating system startup procedures; Demonstrate understanding of combustion cycle; Understanding of heat components operation and troubleshooting; Learn techniques to service, diagnose, and troubleshoot Precedent and Voyager rooftops with ReliaTel and UCP micorcontrols.

This course will cover accessories that are installed to enhance homeowner comfort and prevent possible home damage. Common accessories, such as condensate switches, humidifiers, air cleaners, ventilators, low ambient controls, and the multiple wiring strategies that are acceptable for field installations. Indoor Air Quality and Your Health 10/26/21

This class investigates the air quality inside the home and the effects on health for your customer. We will cover indoor air quality for mold and mildew, common air pollutants, and chemical gases. We will also cover common items found around the home that can affect your health. We will go over the effects of Radon Gas, volatile organic compounds, and moisture control and ventilation.

Motor Fundamentals Operation and Troubleshooting 11/4/21

The goal of this class is to gain an understanding of the various motors used in residential and light commercial HAC equipment. PCS Permanent Split Capacitor, CSR Capacitor Start Capacitor Run, ECM the Electronically Commutated Motor and X13 Constant Torque Motors. Motor performance comparisons and troubleshooting failures will also be discussed. (2 hrs)

Requirements: technicians must have VS Outdoor Certification training to attend. Technicians must bring their own personal multi-meter with standard and micro leads to class.
